If you’ve ever tried to find a third party carpet installer to put flooring you’ve previously purchased, we’re willing to bet you’ve been turned down by a few of them.

Although this can extremely annoying, there is a good reason for flooring installers to do this.

We’re here to tell you all about it.

Why Professional Carpet Installers avoid Products Purchased from other Companies

It is not uncommon to call a carpet company, ask to have a third party flooring product installed, and be denied. What many homeowners don’t know, however, is a lot of detailed planning goes into installations.

Carpet installations are not just about picking out your carpet or flooring, measuring your rooms, and having it installed. Every carpet business has its own rules, regulations, and procedures they follow.

Here’s a breakdown of why most companies refuse third-party product installations and prefer bundling the cost for carpet, padding, and installation:

  1. Measurements: Were the rooms properly measured? Is there enough product to fulfill the spaces intended? If you don’t have enough carpet or the measurements are off, then the installation can not take place or could be botched.
  2. Design/Pattern: This somewhat goes hand-in-hand with measurements. If the design is meant to run in a certain direction (vertical, not horizontal) and the carpet was cut a certain way, this would be difficult to correct. The installation could be tricky, or even messy once installed.
  3. Dyelot: On some occasions, when carpet and flooring products are reproduced, coloring or shades are slightly off. Unless the installation is completely fulfilled, then it’s chancing whether or not the next batch will be the exact same color.
  4. Warranty: A very important part of any flooring purchase.  A carpet warranty is voided when carpet is purchased from one vendor and installed by another.
  5. Storage: How flooring was stored (climate, area, level of dust and other specifications that can change and alter texture, as well as condition of flooring)

Benefits of Buying from a Full-Service Carpet Company

Don’t let outsourcing a third party carpet installation fool you. Buying carpet and flooring directly from a one-stop-shop carpet company pays off in much more ways like:

  • Get a package deal on carpet and installation
  • A warranty that is available with every new carpet installation and doesn’t expire for years
  • A “satisfaction guaranteed” which many reputable companies offer to their customers
  • All measurements, products, and installations provided by the same vendor
  • Reassurance that all flooring products are stored in a clean and regulated carpet and flooring warehouse

Aside from getting all the benefits mentioned above, The Carpet Guys pride themselves on excellent products, services, and customer care. As a family owned and operated flooring business, we treat every customer like family.
