Loose dirt and grit can cause irreparable damage to luxury vinyl flooring (or any flooring, really). To stop these abrasive materials from marring your new flooring, sweep your floors thoroughly and frequently.<\/p>\n

Since COREtec flooring<\/a> is waterproof, you won\u2019t have to worry about damaging your new flooring by giving it a quick once-over with a damp mop.<\/p>\n

Avoid using pre-treated dusting cloths, though, as the chemicals in the cloth may permanently damage your new flooring or leave a residue behind that dulls your floor\u2019s beautiful finish.<\/p>\n

When your floor is in need of a more thorough cleaning, use a pH-neutral cleaner; don\u2019t ever use cleaning products that contain detergents. As a rule, COREtec recommends using Shaw\u2019s R2X Hard Surface Cleaner<\/a> for cleaning their products.<\/p>\n

For stubborn spots that R2X won\u2019t remove, gently buff the spot with isopropyl rubbing alcohol on a clean white towel.<\/p>\n

Be sure to use mats that do not have rubber or latex backings, as these materials may cause discoloration of your flooring.<\/p>\n

Over time, your floor\u2019s finish may begin to dull in high-traffic areas of your home. If you find that your floor has lost its luster, there are specialty products made to extend the life of your flooring.
