What are Carpet Remnants and why are they Useful?

Do you know where to find carpet remnants? At The Carpet Guys! What are carpet remnants? Carpet scraps are sheets of carpeting left over from an installation or cut roll. They can also be rolls of carpet that are not big enough to use in a large room carpet installation.
Unfortunately, some of the best-manufactured carpets tend to sit on shelves because they cannot be utilized. Hence, these carpet rolls become classified as carpet “remnants”.

It’s been said that hardwood flooring is required to acclimate prior to installation. This means that it needs to be able to adapt to the environment where it will be installed. This will bring the wood’s moisture in balance with the home’s before being put in.

Are Carpet Seams Driving You Crazy?

New carpet installations are rarely done in one piece. What many homeowners don’t know is, carpet rolls come in specific sizes and their dimensions vary from vendor to vendor.
A roll of carpet might be in the dimensions of 12 feet by 20 yards (example). That means, if a designated room is 14×14, seaming carpet together will be needed. Seams are common in almost all installations unless the room is small.
Also, every room in your home is a different size. The carpet is cut as close as possible to the size without having excessive waste. Any extra carpet pieces can be saved or used in smaller areas like closets. (more…)
